Impact of bariatric surgery induced weight loss on women fertility: A prospective cohort study

Background: Obesity is a chronic disease influenced by many factors. It is a significant public health issue worldwide, particularly in Western countries where its prevalence is consistently increasing. Obesity is a major risk factor for various chronic illnesses, including cancer. Aim of the work: This study aims to assess the effect of weight loss caused by bariatric surgery on female fertility. Methods: This prospective cohort study was conducted at Ain Shams University Hospitals (ASUH) from June 2022 to December 2022. It involved 75 obese women who underwent bariatric surgery (sleeve gastrectomy) at ASUH.
