Episiotomy during childbirth is a procedure that causes discomfort in patients, pain, and sometimes even more serious complications such as: further cracks, cuts, severe blood loss, infection, damage to the anal sphincter and dyspareunia. In the literature of methods to mitigate the effects of episiotomy there are also methods of physical treatment. The aim of this study was to review the literature on physical methods to mitigate the effects of episiotomiy based on the database Cochrane, PubMed and Medline in the years 2003-2013.
