The study presents the case of acute gangrenous appendicitis in a primipara in her 32nd week of pregnancy. Due to the patient’s deteriorating condition and the increased acute-phase indicators a decision was made to perform laparotomy. The intrasurgical intervention resulted in detecting acute gangrenous appendicitis. On account of technical difficulties in reaching the appendix a decision was made to terminate the pregnancy prior to removing the appendix with surgical assistance. The patient and the newborn were discharged in overall good condition on day 16 after the surgery.
